Denny’s, one of America’s largest full-service family restaurant chains, is teaming up with the St. Augustine community to raise money for Second Harvest of North Florida. On Saturday, Sept. 10, the Denny’s diner located at 1300 N. Ponce de Leon Blvd. will cook hundreds of delicious, bite-sized pancake balls for its Second Annual Pancake Puppy Eating Contest.
Back by popular demand, the eating contest will raise funds while increasing awareness of food insecurity in St. Augustine. Denny’s will donate 10 percent of all sales from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sept. 10 to Second Harvest of North Florida, which distributes food and grocery products to those in need. Then, at 3 p.m., 10 hungry competitors will battle it out in the eating arena in hopes of becoming the next “St. Augustine Pancake Puppy Champion.”
