The National Association of Letter Carriers sponsors the largest one-day food drive in the United States on Mother's Day weekend each year. This year's event will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2011.

ImageThe 19th Annual "Stamp Out Hunger" Food Drive, the largest one-day food drive in the United States, is set for Saturday, May 14. Residents are asked to leave nonperishable food donations in bags or boxes by their mailboxes.

More than 350,000 pounds of food was donated to Second Harvest North Florida through the NALC event in 2010 - the event's largest Jacksonville total ever - and the goal is to secure even more pounds in 2010.

On Saturday, May 8, volunteers and Second Harvest staff joined forces with the National Association of Letter Carriers and residents of the First Coast for the 18th Annual "Stamp Out Hunger" Food Drive - a national event that produces hundreds of thousands of pounds of much-needed food resources that will go to people in need in North Florida.
