JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Local TD Bank volunteer employees and executives sorted food, stocked shelves and presented a surprise $25,000 donation from the TD Charitable Foundation, the charitable giving arm of TD Bank, to Second Harvest North Florida on Wednesday, Feb. 15. The mission of Second Harvest North Florida is to distribute food and grocery products to hungry people and to educate the public about the causes and possible solutions to problems of domestic hunger.
The donation will create 175,000 meals for north Florida families in need.
“These funds will help feed people who otherwise might not know where their next meal is coming from,” said Bruce Ganger, executive director at Second Harvest. “We are so incredibly thankful for this partnership and what it represents. This type of generosity is what allows us to function at a high level and do what we do to help our neighbors in need.”
