Jacksonville Beach, FL – The 2012 Florida Surfing Championships is encouraging event goers to help hungry people in north Florida by bringing nonperishable food – cans and boxes especially – to donate at the event. The big blue Nourishment Network North Florida truck will be parked near the main event entrance next to Freebird Live to collect donated food from 3-5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6, at Jacksonville Beach.

        Jacksonville, FL (October 4, 2012) --- The Neviaser Charitable Foundation has donated $100,000 to Nourishment Network North Florida (SHNF) to help feed hungry families in Northeast Florida.  The announcement was made by Bruce Ganger, executive director of SHNF.  The presentation of the check was made by Nancy Neviaser Baker and Michael Neviaser of the Neviaser Charitable Foundation.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Nourishment Network North Florida has a new tool in the battle against hunger, thanks to a generous donation by Winn-Dixie Stores. The Jacksonville-based grocer donated a 50-foot refrigerated semi-trailer on Wednesday, Sept. 5. The trailer was loaded with approximately 13,000 pounds of food to help restock the food bank’s warehouse, which is experiencing a depleted inventory as the summer months wane.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The inventory of shelf-stable and perishable food in the Nourishment Network North Florida warehouse is at its lowest level in more than two years as a result of spiking demand by families struggling to make ends meet. To help, Dixie Egg Company responded with a generous donation of more than 300,000 Grade A brown eggs to provide an important boost of protein-rich food.

The 22nd Annual Jacksonville FOODFIGHT once again made its mark on the fight against hunger – raising more than $92,000, or the equivalent of 644,000 meals for people in need, when it was held on June 7 at the home of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
