On Friday, Nov. 18, Second Harvest North Florida teamed with Black Diamond Performance Reporting and other local volunteer groups to distribute 2,500 ready-to-prepare Thanksgiving dinners to low-income families in Jacksonville. The distribution took place at EverBank Field in Parking Lot E, beginning at 9 a.m. and concluding shortly after noon. Meals were distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. All meal packages consisted of a frozen turkey, canned vegetables, boxed potatoes and stuffing, as well as canned fruit. Bread was also distributed. The employees of Black Diamond Performance Reporting provided more than 14,161 canned or boxed food items for distribution during the event. Wells Fargo Bank donated $12,500 to Second Harvest, which will be used to help offset costs of the project.
