JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - First Coast residents can contribute important food items this weekend (Friday and Saturday, Sept. 24-25) by participating in the Hero Central Food Drive, which is being sponsored by Publix and held in conjunction with Second Harvest, First Coast News, Simon Malls and the United Way of Northeast Florida.
Come out and support Second Harvest North Florida and help provide important resources to those in need throughout north Florida. Food donations will be accepted on Sept. 24 and 25 at the St. Johns Town Center and Orange Park Mall.
Second Harvest North Florida is teaming up with First Coast News and the United Way for the second year in a row to ensure that needy families have enough food.
The Be A Hero Food Drive will culminate with a community-wide event Sept. 24-25.
First Coast News will be at various collection sites, including the Orange Park Mall and the St. Johns Town Center.
The donations will benefit the families and children served by the agencies that Second Harvest North Florida.
